Neighborhoods in Charlotte, NC are all unique, as they are interesting to explore and are conveniently located to the rest of all that the area has to offer singles, couples, and families.  As a growing city, Charlotte continues to be influenced by its thriving economy and growing number of residents.  It is a place where the people are friendly, the architecture is beautiful, and the pace is a little slower than in other major cities.  If you’re moving to Charlotte, and want to know where to live, then you won’t want to miss what these 8 neighborhoods have in store for you:

1.   Ballantyne – Considered the most popular residential area for avid golfers, this neighborhood has a good balance between housing, business, entertainment, dining, and shopping choices.  Once known as a hunting preserve on the property of the Harris family, Ballantyne was developed only just a decade ago but continues to grow to meet the demand.  Homes range in the $230’s to the millions.  Top subdivisions include The Point, Ballantyne Country Club, and Ballantyne East.

2.   Center City – A unique area that loops around Uptown, and is a busy, urban neighborhood close to popular businesses and entertainment venues, including the Bank of America Stadium, where the NFL Panthers play.  New townhomes and condos are more prevalent here than single family homes, averaging in the $200’s, but of the single family homes in the vicinity, they are reasonably priced in the $200’s as well.  Homes for sale in Center City are found in residential sections within First Ward, Third Ward, Fourth Ward, and Historic South End, each with their own distinct styles.

3.   Cherry – Mainly residential, it was one of the first African American neighborhoods in Charlotte, and continues to be a historic part of the city.  The neighborhood is within walking distance of Cherry Park, shopping, and King’s Drive Farmer’s Market, and there are several homes for sale in the newly built Cherry subdivision ranging in the $670’s to $850’s.

4.   Dilworth – Known as the first suburb for streetcars in the area, this urban neighborhood has its share of historic and eclectic shops and restaurants.  Homes here range in the $700’s to $1 million in the subdivision of Dilworth, including new luxury homes.

5.   NoDa – The shortened name of North Davidson Street, is a fun, colorful and vibrant place where locals and visitors flock to for lots of live music, entertainment, and good food.  Homes here range in the $150’s to $250’s, with new condos available in the $120’s.  Top subdivisions include The Arts District and Villa Heights.

6.   Plaza-Midwood – It’s a historic neighborhood that was once a suburb for streetcars.  This Charlotte neighborhood features lots of bungalow-style homes and restored, vintage homes, mixed-use buildings for condos and townhomes with businesses.  The subdivision of Midwood has homes for sale range in the $350’s to upward of $1 million. 

7.   South End – Described as trendy and fast-paced, it’s the perfect neighborhood for young professionals and singles seeking endless entertainment and social activities.  You’ll find condos and townhomes ranging from the $160’s to $360’s in the subdivisions of The Arlington, Factory South, Myrtle Square, or the Village of South End.

8.   SouthPark – Home to largest shopping mall in NC, this neighborhood is a popular choice for single family homes upwards of the $250’s and million dollar range and even higher.  Top subdivisions include Barclay Downs, Fairmeadows, Foxcroft, and  Mountainbrook.
